The closing ceremony of ShamkirChess2017 tournament, dedicated to the memory of Vugar Hashimov and organized by Synergy Group, was held.

In Shamkir in Heydar Aliyev Center in Head of Executive Power of Shamkir Alimpasha Mammadov talked first. Alimpasha Mammadov said that during 10 days there was sport holiday spirit in Shamkir:” Located 400 kilometers away from the capital, Shamkir is hosting an international chess tournament for the fourth time. This is the obvious example of the continuation of great leader Heydar Aliyev’s careful attitude towards sport and sportsmen by president İlham Aliyev. Recently there was a real sports holiday in Shamkir. I’d like to thank each chess player for that.

Speaking about the importance of the tournament, vice-president of the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan Mahir Mammadov, said that the traditional tournament having been held already fourth time has successfully finished. Vice-president Speaking about the works being for the development of chess in the Country, said that next year in the V "Shamkir Chess 2017" tournament , the world’s famous chess players will compete i:” The 2018 is jubilee year of the tournament. Georgian Chess Federation President Giorgi Giorgadze in his speech, spoke about the relations between Georgian and Azerbaijani Chess Federations, shared his memories associated with Vugar Gashimov. The guests thanked the Synergy Group for the excellent organization.

The chairman of the Organizing Committee, tournament’s director Farid Huseynov, in his speech thanked the representatives of all media for broadcasting the tournament on high level.
